These photos may be c. 1900. Shows the mill as it stretched out beyond a residential district, open fields in background. #414876 shows a cars on a passing train. The factory's smoke stack is distinctive in all photos.
George Buell and his family operated woolen mills in St. Joseph since 1852, being the first woolen mill west of the Mississippi. The Buell woolen blankets were popular everywhere and used later by Pullman for its sleeping cars.
