Description
Building of the Hannibal and St. Joseph Railroad in Missouri Historical Review, Vol XXXXVI, No. 1, October, 1941. Article by Homer Clevenger. pp. 32-47. This article describes the State laws enacted and loans provided to establish a railroad from the Mississippi to Missouri's western border. It includes the difficulties with obtaining stock subscriptions and land and the challenge to approval of the less than conforming construction work.
