Scope and Content

A Century of Delineator Girls shows women's fashions from 1804 through 1904 on one side and story of fashions on other side. The first paper pattern was made my Ebenezer Butterick in 1863. He engaged in cutting out a pattern for a pair of short trousers for his small son and Butterick became a household word. The Delineator , now the foremost of the world's magazines for women, was originally published with the single mission of heralding the advent of the tissue-paper patters. The Butterick Building is located in New York.
