Frederick Douglass Years. 1817-1895. Douglass years called the years of the making of modern America between 1817 and 1895. It was the year of his birth and the year of his death. Andrew Jackson spoke for the common man. Men joined together to rid the country of the evil of slavery. President Lincoln's Emancipation and the Thirteenth Amendment were the endorsement of a action already taken. Douglass took a leading part by his determination to assist his people in overcoming their handicaps. He symbolized the struggle of Negro Americans during the years that he lived. The cover of the record is black with aqua blue scribbles throughout. There is a picture of a black man among the scribble of aqua blue and black. 1/Phonograph Record/ 33 1/3 RPM.
