Destroyed by Fire
Before Maid-Rite occupied this building, Carmel Corner was in it.
Over the years, there were numerous Maid-Rite shops in St Joseph.
The V.F.W. Hall occupied the 2nd floor above Maid-Rite.
Both the Maid-Rite & the VFW Hall were destroyed by fire.
The entire building was razed.
After the fire, Maid-rite moved to the southwest corner of 6th & Felix.
Maid-Rite occupied the old gas station on the corner of Ashland & Frederick.
Maid-Rite sold the Frederick Avenue building to Crumbly Burger
The Frederick Avenue location was the last in St Joseph
Crumbly Burger didn't pay the franchise fees to retain the Maid-Rite name.
Maid-Rite had also purchased the old Henry building on St. Joseph Avenue but was later sold to become the Cabana Grill.
In the 1980's, there was also a small Maid-Rite at 12th & Commercial.
In the 1970's, there was a Maid-Rite on the Belt Highway south of the Y Motel.
There are no longer any Maid-Rites in St Joseph.
