A folded greeting card from Bernard Martin to Dr. & Mrs. McDonald, Christman 1988. The letter is written on both sides of the inside of the card, beginning on the right side and ending on the left. On the front is a picture of two male and one female Mallard ducks flying over a pond or lake. The picture has a green border. Inside the card, on the left side upper left hand side is a 2½" x 3" colored sticker of a Northern Cardinal. The bottom of the sticker says "Holiday Greetings". The lower portion of the back of the card describes the front picture "Coming Home" by James Meger.Context
Dear Dr. & Mrs. McDonald,
Hoping all is well with you.
All is well here, Although it has been a bit wild the past 6 months.
First, I was sorrowed to read of the passing over of Evert Asjes.
I know you were very close to Evert. I knew him only as a boy and knew enough of the family to regard them very highly. I was sure happy to have had the opportunity to renew the acquaintance earlier this year.
Sounds familiar doesn't it } Well, the recent vintage seems to be turning out the best ever from recent samplings out of the carboys.
Will be anxious to hear the comments on the vintage out of your vineyard.
The "wild sex months" - drought, tough work in the vineyard trying to irrigate with a makeshift irrigation system, explosions a little over two miles from home, (no damage except to the nerves early in the morning) and finally the arrival of another grandson (makes two this year, - first one was June 22) Joseph Brendon Martin coming onto the scene at 4½ lbs and 7 weeks ahead of schedule. Seems to be healthy and normal, but I sure got to see some eye opening medical practice at St. Lukes neo-natal dept.
We are planning to go to the meeting at Tan Tara, at least as of now. Please plan to ride with us if you would like. Be in touch in January. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.Lexicon
