The lower half of the back of the card describes the front picture "Native to the northern part of the Northern Hemisphere the Common Loon resembles fossils of birds which lived 50 million years ago and is therefore considered to be among the world's most primitive birds. Hello, good friend,
Received a surprise in the mail a few day ago - a notice from MO. Wine Country journal of a gift subscription. That was very kind of you. Your thoughtfulness is really appreciated. I will be looking forward to the first issue.
I'll be anxious to hear about your trips this year, how your 1991 vintage turned out.
It was a record year for my vineyard. Best croip ever in both quantity & quality. Was even able to sell some. Almost made a profit. Did not take the "high priced" labor into account however.
I am about through with the re-direction of the north vineyard rows. Also got 500 + Chardonel cuttings in the ground. Well over half of them rooted. I am converting the small vineyard near the house to 4 feet between vines and replacing the Delaware rows with Chardonel.
Two of the Va Seedling/Cynthiara/Norton you gave me last spring made it. Nothing I ever grew received such tender loving care. Once they settled in, they put on some nice growth.
Also noted the passing away of General Yancey, I know he is dearly missed by the Thursday lunch bunch. Give my regards to all of them.
My regards also to Eleanor, and thanks again for the subscription.
My best wishes to you also.Lexicon
