Scope and Content

A folded greeting card from Louis & Liz Martini to Eleanor and Wilbur (McDonald), dated 1986. It is heavy card stock with an engraved picture of a stone bungalow sitting amongst hills and trees. The message is handwritten on the lower inside and the lower backside.

Context

Dear Eleanor and Wilbur, It was so good to hear from you. What an active life you've been leading! Our trips have been in the U.S.to sell wine - but we enjoy them. Meeting new people and seeing our country and I must admit relaxing knowing the customs and language. This year (1986) we plan to go to Spain for Easter - a week in Portugal and then visit Louis' relations in Italy. They were all out here last summer on their dream trip to America. We both enjoyed them particularly Louis because they all spoke his dialect and it came back to him. Should your meanderings take you to California we'd love to hear from you. We seem to be sort of rooted even though the children are taking over the winery. Our best to you for 1986. Fondly Louis & Liz Martini (side note) Saw the Possons & Vicki & RL. and both were fine Sincerely,
