Description
Chronological Analysis of Tsegi Phase Sites in Northeastern Arizona is part of the Papers of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, Number 3 published by the University of Arizona Press. The Tsegi Canyon system contains a rich store of prehistoric remains which has drawn the attention of archaeologists since before 1930. The most spectacular of these remains ar the large "cliff dwellings" such as Betatakin, Kiet Siel, Batwoman House, and Twin Caves Pueblo. Many of these sites are preserved for the American public by Navajo National Monument. Detailed descriptions of these sites are given by the use of maps, tables, pictures, illustrations and the written word. A list of references in included at the end of the book. The study of tree rings was used to determine the approximate age of the sites. This book is from the Don Reynolds library.
