"We. the undersigned, mayor and members of the board of public works, being mindful of your fine achievement in designing and supervising the building of the city hall for Saint Joseph, which the city administration occupied for the first time July 7, 1927, feel called upon to express by this letter the appreciation, satisfaction, and gratitude of the people of Saint Joseph, and want you to carry always a full realization of such appreciation and gratitude.
For your excellent performance your name will live as long as this building shall stand, and you will be held on account thereof in universal esteem and admiration by our people.
All done this October eighth, in the year of our Lord, 1927.
