Civic Arena Groundbreaking Photo, c. 1980. b/w. Two views of the City Council breaking ground on the Civic Arena to be built on the block bounded by Felix & Francis, 3rd & 4th. This arena replaced the City Auditorium, located at 4th & Jules, which was razed.
01.24.14 = City Council members with shovels breaking the ground at the site of the Civic Arena, 4th & Felix Sts. Buchanan County Courthouse in background, and City Parking Garage. Member that can be identified are: Larry Koch, in plaid jacket, next to him on right, Leroy Maxwell; Glenda Kelley, center, in dark jacket, next to her in plaid suit is Joyce Winston. Mayor Gordon Weiser is fourth man from right.
