Cleve, Richard, Pony Express Rider, Letter to Mabel Loving, April 9, 1913 Handwritten letter from Nebraska City, Nebr. to Mabel Florence B. Loving in St. Joseph, MO. He is nearly 73 years old when writing this letter. 2 pp.
Writes of a particular hard ride he had, as Pony Express rider, during a snowstorm in which he rode 36 hours, 160 miles, because there were no other riders available. He did not consider riding 160 miles a long ride. It was freezing, blinding snowstorm that made it so difficult.
