Comstock (A.A.), father of Julia Comstock Field, St. Joseph Residence, 5th & Isadore, to 1873, Photo, 1956. b/w. Two identical of the large 2-story brick home occupied by the Comstock Family until late 1873, when Comstock lost his home in the Panic of 1873. The elaborate wedding reception of Eugene Field and Julia Comstock was held in this home, which among other things featured 34 wedding cakes. This photo taken in 1956 when the home was painted white. By 2020 this location is a vacant lot. But in 1873 the street was home to Wyeths, Lemons. (These photos are easy to confuse with Comstock's later residence at 425 N. 11th.
