Description

Archeological Research on the King Hill Site--23BN1; An Assessment of a Lot at 5701 South First Street for the St. Joseph Housing Authority and Artifact Descriptions from that area and a Description of a Broken Catlinite Tablet from another portion of the site., 1994. This was an investigation of a site proposed to be purchased with HUD funding, the site slightly out of the area plotted on the 1968 National Register of Historic Places for the King Hill site. This project location was found to be part of the same well known Oneota occupation. The most interesting artifact recovered was a native-made gun flint. The area is thought to have been occupied in the first portion of the 1700's, a Kansa village. 20/Report/Stapled.
