Czech Pony Express Club Celebration in Czechoslovakia, Photos, 1985-1986. 12 photos. b/w. In Czechoslovakia there is an interest club concerning the Pony Express. Club members hold an annual celebration and re-ride in Czechoslovakia mimicking such rides in the United States. These photos were taken in Mnisek pod Brdy, Czechoslovakia at such an event in 1986. Legends on back of photos in Czech language. Mníšek pod Brdy is a town south west of Prague in the Czech Republic, in Central Bohemian Region. The town is part of the Prague metropolitan area. Legend translation: "Riders of the Czechoslovak Pony Express run in stadium at Mnisek, Aug. 18, 1986. 96.1P.360 = Man speaking into microphone to another man dressed in western attire. Woman at his side dressed as dance hall girl, crowd behind. Legend translation; "Czech XP Leader honoring rider on last night of Pony Express celebration." 96.1P.361 = Fist fight between 2 groups of cowboys in stadium arena. Tepees in background. Legend Translation: "western performers at Pony Express celebration. Tepees where Pony Express riders stay." 96.1P.362 = Men on horseback riding tow-abreast, woman on horseback behind. Riding down brick street in front of multi-story stone buildings. Translation : " Pony Express Riders morning parade before run." 96.1P.363 = Line of about 30 riders on horseback facing center of arena, Tepees erected in background.
