Demorest's Illustrated Monthly, volume VII, and Mme. Demorest's Mirror of Fashions is a magazine which was published in 1870 women of the day. It includes articles of interest, music, poetry, and fashions along with information on appropriate times for wearing them. Included with the book are two letters from Elliott Spaulding, who donated the book, to Bartlett Boder, President of the St. Joseph Historical Society in 1951, regarding the story behind the book and its' binding with his Mother's name on the cover.
