Doctors of the American Frontier has a subtitle of Saddle-Bag Medicine--the Doctors Who Rode West! They crunched through the winter forests and lonely snow swept prairies, forded the swollen streams in spring and sweated along the hot summer trails. Their cures were blunt vigorous and often ingenious. Everything they needed was stowed in a bag that hung loosely from the side of the saddle. This book was among several donated to our library by the Linda Hall library.
