Dear Dr. O'Brien:
We are certainly looking forward to having you as our guest at the Optimist Club on
March 2, 1967. Incidentally, Mrs. Minor has talked to our club on several occasions
and I am sure that she could brief you on any facts that might be interesting to you
pertaining to the nature of the club.
We meet in the Empire Room at the Hotel Robidoux Hotel on Thursday at noon.
The meeting is usually over around 1:00 o'clock and the president usually likes to
adjourn at 1:30 or just a minute or two before, . . . . therefore, a talk of 20 to 25 minutes . . .
would be most deireable if you could work under such a schedule.
We want you to decide just exactly what you want to talk about, . . . . (most) are quite
interested in the general idea of what the fundamental approach and what is trying
to be accomplished at your institution is always most interesting.
We will check with you a week or so ahead of this far off date to see if your schedule
will still permit the March 2 date, and of course if some emergency should arise we
would certainly appreciate hearing from you.
We would be most interested if you would accommodate us in receiving some biographical
data because you are . . new to St. Joseph and . . it would (be) difficult . . . (to) introduce you
. . . without a little assistance from you. If you want o announce a subject that we can put
in our bulletin we would be very happy to do so, . . . .
Mr. Charles E. Hegstrom is program chairman . . . for the myth of March and if I do not
contact you prior to March 2, Mr. Hegstrom will certainly do so.
Thank you, again, for giving us a date when you can come and talk with us, we will
look forward to seeing you then.
Yours sincerely,
