I am pleased to announce that Dr. Ronald J. Catanzaro has joined
the Central staff as Associate Director in charge of the new State
Alcoholism Program. In this new role, Dr. Catanzaro will be
responsible for implementing the alcoholism treatment, education,
training, and research programs as announced and supported by
Governor Hearnes.
Dr Catanzaro will be meeting individually with all of you in an
initial survey of alcoholism services available in your institution.
It is my plan and desire that Dr. Catanzaro will have full responsibility
and authority to develop a State-wide Alcoholism Program,
including the formation of treatment policies and procedures.
I will appreciate your cooperation and assistance in helping him
