Notes

BEATRICE CREAMERY CO.; LINCOLN, NEB. VERN THORNBURGH HLG LEDGER VOL. II, p. 255g, ONLY ITEM ON PAGE LETTER DATED 3/30/1914 ALSO ON p. 256L See also 143/3524 regarding the note on this Provenance. Dr. Corder attached this original research note to this record, but 143/3524 is more likely the Ghost Dance shirt with the Wounded Knee attribution purchased from Thornburgh. Thornburgh describes the shirt as "painted and fringed somewhat" and I believe he would have likely included the descriptor "bird design" for this shirt. Sara Wilson 1/6/2023. This may be the shirt from N.E. Carter. (or from J.C. Tingley - George purchased a Ghost Dance Dress for $25.00 - SBE 01-12-2023)
