Rivers, Plains, and Wagon Trains is the Souvenir Booklet for the Oregon-California Trails Association Convention 2006, held in St. Joseph, Missouri, August 8-12, 2006 St. Joseph saw tens of thousands of nineteenth century travelers bound for California, Oregon, and Utah. Several National Historic Trails, including the Lewis and Clark, Oregon, California, and Pony Express Trails pass through St. Joseph and the surrounding area. In addition, St. Joseph's history is rich in other stories of fur trappers, Indian removal, merchants and outfitters, settlers, the Civil War and magnificent old mansions. This booklet includes monographs covering historical events in the region during the time period of the western migration.
