A.
The old envelope contains a detailed illustration of a large, multi-story building. It is from John S. Brittain & Co., a wholesale dry goods and notions store located in St. Joseph, Missouri. The envelope is addressed to Miss A. L. Watkins, Lawson, Mo., Ray Co. There is a round postal stamp from Saint Joseph dated June 29, a green postage 3¢ stamp in the upper right corner.
B. The old envelope is addressed to Henry Isely, Esq, County Clerk, Hiawatha, Kansas. It is from St. Joseph PRINTING CO. It features a postmark from St. Joseph, Missouri, dated June 24, with a green 3¢ postage stamp in the upper right corner; the envelope is slightly aged and bears the imprint of the St. Joseph Steam Printing Co. in the top right corner. denoting its origin, alongside a set of numbers written vertically on the left edge, adding to the historical character of the artifact.
C.
The letter is from the Missouri Valley Trust Company in St. Joseph, Missouri, dated January 3, 1922, and includes an image of the company building on the letterhead. It is addressed to Bartlett Boder at 2649 Frederick Ave., The letter details the State, County, and City tax on the institution's capital stock for the year 1921, amounting to $2298.62. It explains that the tax isn't deductible for the institution but can be claimed by individual shareholders.
