He includes more Kansas towns that have either disappeared with a trace or are only a shadow of what they once were. The book, organized by region, chronicles each towns' settlement, politics, colorful figures and legends, and eventual abandonment or decline. The author has also written "Ghost Towns of Kansas, Volume I-III".
