First St. Joseph Historical Society Information File. File folder containing the typed text of a Museum Graphic article that published a photo of 13 civic leaders who met in 1867 to establish the society. The article gave brief bios of each of the men. (see 92.1H.29 for photo) Meeting was called by Col. Albe, M. Saxton, president of society, Held on the 2nd floor of the State National Bank, (of which Saxton was also president), SE corner of 4th & Felix. One of their first project was to establish a lending library. Included are Landis, Israel Vories, Henry M. France, C.B. Hoagland, Theodore B. (originally unidentified, see Museum Graphic, Spring, 1956) Ayres, Eugene Burnside, John Kemper, Simeon Calkins, Ripley Ridenbaugh, William Hetrick, Howard Saxton, A. M. Boyle, Robert MacDonald, W.A. P.
