Description
Five Indian Tribes of the Uppers Missouri: Sioux, Arickaras, Assiniboines, Crees, Crows. Author was fur trader on Upper Missouri married to an Assiniboine woman. He assisted Audubon and the Culbertsons in collection fauna, supplied information about the Indians to Father SeSmet, provided Henry Schoolcraft with an Assiniboine vocabulary. His written reports of the Upper Missouri tribes were not published until 1930, and then only in parts. This book brings together all his writings. Edited by John C. Ewers.
