Research Notes

Notes

Possibly a Kiddush cup, a traditional Jewish drinking vessel used to hold wine or grape juice. THe cup is part of a Jewish tradition that the holiday or special day has begun once wine/juice has been poured into the Kiddush cups and prayers are said over it. Separate note - most of the kiddush cups found like this are inscribed PIERRE DE LA MER MORTE, which translates to Dead Sea Stone. This was often inscribed on goblets made from stone retrieved from the Dead Sea.
