Goetz, M. Karl, Plaque Dedication at Pony Express Museum Photos (4), Sept.. 1961. b/w. Four photos taken at dinner held at Pony Express Stables to unveil a plaque dedicated to M. Karl Goetz, a founder of the Museum. The bronze plague with bust profile of Goetz reads: "M. Karl Goetz, 1909-1960. Founder of the Goetz Foundation who restored the Pony Express Stable to its rightful place for the preservation of American history and for the education and pleasure of present and future generations.": 97.1P.600 = Banquet table with guests seated. Two rows of tables located in the Stables, exhibits along the walls. Taken from above. 97.1P.601 = Goetz Family at plaque. Immediate family includes Nancy Goetz, widow; Mignon Goetz DeShon; and Mike Goetz, son. 97.1P.602 = Goetz Family at plaque. This was the news photo printed in St. Joseph Gazette, Sept. 12, 1961. Caption: "Tribute to M.K. Goetz. Members of the Goetz family pose with a plaque honoring M. Karl Goetz following ceremonies last night at the Pony Express Museum honoring the late Mr. Goetz for his civil service. Tribute was paid to him for his service in rendering the stable as an historic landmark of St. Joseph.
