The 1953 City Directory lists a Green Tree Hotel at 701 South 6th.
The Green Tree Tavern, Nite Club and Cafe was located at 703 South 6th.
It was owned by Virgil Townsend.
As visible on the cafe window, it was operated by Ethel Chaney.
To the right was another business called A-Rite Meats.
The meat company was run by Johnnie Roskey.
Guys Potato Chip Warehouse was located to the left of the Green Tree.
Pat Townsend remembered that you go to end of the cafe counter to a hallway that could enter the bar or night club
