Habecker's introduction to this volume:
" A PHOTOGRAPH is the only actual remembrance or reproduction of a scene; and, when properly recorded is an everlasting vision of what has taken place. Most of the photographs in this book are historic events and happenings in St. Joseph, Mo., and were compiled with other study pictures in the hope that some day they might be of interest to whoever might seek information on 'What Has Happened in the City Worthwhile.' This book is one of a collection of 4,000 prints and is the property of Max Habecker of the News-Press.
