Frederick Morgan (born 17 May 1847 London, England; died 1927) English painter. Frederick Morgan was a genre painter who painted idyllic and romanticized narratives that greatly appealed to Victorian tastes. His father John Morgan was a painter himself; at fourteen years old Morgan left school and went to train with his father in his studio. He trained at the Edinburgh Academy as well. Paintings mostly consisting of children and families imbued with conservative Victorian social conventions, Morgan’s work was reproduced into prints and became popular particularly among the British middle class.
