"Q: How long have you been here?
A: Since the 3rd of July.
Q: What did they bring you here for?
A: Who do you mean by they?
Q: I mean, why were you brought here?
A: I can't answer that question, Doctor.
Q: This is an institution for mental cases and we do not take only people that have something wrong with their minds, so somebody must have thought that there was something wrong with you mentally. What do you think?
A: You will have to ask them.
Q: Do you think that there has ever been anything wrong with your mind?
A: There has not.
Q: Do you think that they treated you fairly in bringing you here?
A: I do not.
Q: Do you think you that somebody had a definite purpose in putting you here?
A: There is much to be considered in that.
Q: What do you think about the Associated Press?
A: They caused a great deal of trouble.
Q: Wasn't there somebody jealous of you and kept you from advancing?
A: There was jealousy in it.
Q: Do you have any hard feelings towards those people who were responsible for your trouble?
A: Sometimes.
Q: Who in particular?
A: C.B. Monney, of the Kansas City Star.
Q: What did he do?
A: He is a villian.
Q: In what way did he injure you or harm you?
A: (No answer.)
Dr. Miles:
Q: Do you still think that there is someone wanting to persecute you? People who are enemies to you?
A: I do have enemies.
Q: Do you think that you might be mistaked about some of them?
A: I could be.
A: I do not care to talk about that. Why should I talk when I do not know what I am talking about.
Q: How did your fiends and your people treat at home?
A: I don't want to answer that.
Q: This is () for your own good - we are only trying to help you.
A: I know but I will not talk when I don't know what its (ll) about.
Q: Do you think you know more about it later?
A: I hope so--I wish to run in here---
Q: Can't you think clearly?
A: I want to remain here until I get my divorce.
Q: Who do you want a divorce from?
A: (Stubborn Silence)
Q: Did you husband mistreat you?
A: That will be settled privately.
Dr. Dewey:
Q: They () you () suspicious.
A: Who ()?
A: This is the record () with you--is it true?
A. () the first is true --any human would defend themself.
Q: Has someone been imposing on you?
A: I don't know that you would ().
Q: Your statement would () -- we want to help you but we can't if you won't cooperate with us.
A: I do not wish to talk until I have further information.
Q: There are questions that won't answer.
A: But I will not answer.
Q: Then () that you will stay here until you will answer -- it shows us that your mind is not right and you will have to remain here until it does. If you want to stay here its () right.
A: Let me summarize it.
Q: All right go on.
Dr. Bunch:
Q: Tell us all about it.
A: I expect to obtain a divorce--there is no reason why I can't. Then expect to take up press work and get the facts and speak later.
