Description
Human Osteology: A Laboratory and Field Manual of the Human Skeleton was compiled by the author to make it easier to identify bones found in archaeological digs. It supercedes 3 previous books on the subject. The author states in the Preface: "Usually about half of the human skeletons from an archaeologcal site are subadults. Without this manual it is difficult to find illustrations and information to identify subadult material. In addition, this manual presents each bone separately, along with information on its growth, age, six and measurements." Following the introduction, the book is divided into these categories: The Skull or Cranium, The Postcranial Skeleton, and Human Dentition. Three appendixes as well as a bibliography are included at the end.
