Description

Found in bag 01.15.180 - a large bag containing 22 smaller bags/jars of faunal remains. This bag was labeled "human" by an archaeologist in the field. No other information available. The identification was confirmed. Further investigation into the documentation from the excavation is needed to determine the provenance. Some remains are marked with artifact numbers. Contains three pedal phalanges, one metatarsal that shows abnormal shape, four skull fragments, four molars (1 with roots undeveloped and three showing significant wear), and one left radius (proximal end) showing post mortem damage. While no bone is duplicated, more than one individual might be possible due to the significant wear on the three molars. Significant wear indicates an older individual, but unerupted molar indicates someone likely under the age of 20.
