Hypoulite St. Joseph News-Press July 31, 1992 Mary Jo Sprague has an article about how the streets of St. Joseph were named. Joseph Robidoux has a French speaking slave called Hypoulite who took care of the Robidoux household duties and who was reported to be worth in excess of $1,000. A short street north of the old Goetz Brewery was named for him, but is not shown on current city maps. It has either ceased to exist as a street, or has been renamed.
