I Am Bound for California is the Overland Diary of Edgar Reynolds, 1852. It is edited and annotated by Robert N. Manley. The chapters are divided into segments along the trail--the Missouri River, the Platte River, Fort Laramie, South Pass, and eventually California. The first 32 pages include a foreword, a preface and an introduction. Mr. Reynolds's diary actually only covers a few months of his trip.
