James Home, 1318 Lafayette, Small Photo, c. 1919. b/w. Very small photo of the home at 1318 Lafayette St. where Jesse James was killed in 1882. This photo taken much later. The hill in front of the house has been excavated for Lafayette Street extension and the derelict-looking single-story home appears to be sitting high above grade on high dirt wall. Vegetation growing on wall and below. ( The excavation was related to extending Lafayette Street past the home, which before had not actually had a street front. The home was relocated to the Belt Highway in 1939).
Handwritten on back: "Jesse James House, 13th & Lafayette, Sept. 1919"
