In uniform, WWI and Military dress. Mr. Barrow served served in both World Wars. In WWI on horseback in Europe. In WWII, in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. He was a captain in the army. He was permitted to serve in WWII, despite his age, because he "could be alone, an important qualification for serving in Alaska." He was with his unit of course but by "alone" is to be understood as there being no fellow officers
