Article includes a fairly complete biography of Lacy, including his parents family home in Virginia, his wife, and his children. Robert E. Lee had been a visitor at the family home, Chatam, before the war. This home was taken over by Federal Troops later in the war.
After the war the story is told of 8-year old Graham meeting Robert E. Lee who told him of his visits to Chatam.
Lacy also tells of the time his father, home on leave in the Civil War, broke his leg jumping from a window trying to escape Yankee soldiers who came to the home. Maj. Lacy was taken prisoner but later exchanged and went back into the army.Lexicon
