Les's Chicken Royal Restaurant
2701 S. Belt
The restaurant was locatated at 2701 S. Belt, the owner was M. Leslie Ellis
It used to be where the bank is now located, on the southeast corner of Belt Highway & Pickett Road
Does anyone have any photos or information about Les'? It was one of the neatest restaurants and had some of the best dining in town. Their French Onion soup was scrumptious. As I remember, the decor was set Mediterranean style
Description from Irene Lieffring who used to work at Les':
When Les' started in business he specalized in pan fried chicken. Later he started serving steaks. He had the best prime rib in town and when you ordered the large cut you got a LARGE cut. There was the lounge and there was the fireside room which was more family orentated. Before your meal was served you received a hot kettle of soup, salad, and a small loaf of bread on a cutting board. It was a great place to work
