Mr. George
Dear sir. I have a very fine bottle neck Indian basket the largest I ever have seen of that shape and a very hansome design the squaw has been a year making it, in fact it is the finest basket I have ever seen in this vicinity
The Indian wants $25.00 for it and it is a bargain at that, I am afraid he will take it away before I hear from you so answer this as soon as possible and I will try and hold this until I hear from you
If I can persuade him to let me send it to you C.O.D. with the privilege[? - word cut off from fold] of examanation I will do so but as you now the Indians are very suspicious and as they dont like to have anything belonging to them out of their sight it may not be possible for me to get him to let me send it back their
So let me hear from you as soon as possible and oblige
Yours in F.A.M.

The (Yosemite) A Branch of he Digger tribe
The stage was held up by a lone stage robber Sunday
the 2nd of Sept between here and Achwahnee that makes the
second time this summer and once last summer every time by
the same man.
The highwayman did not receive $400.00 in all three of
his holdups, he gave one of the passengers in his hold up the other day
permission to take some kodak pictures of him so he took three snap shots,
if they are good and I can get any I will send you one.
Yours sincerelySubject
