Letter from Harry George to Alaska Bazaar indicating the baskets to send and instructing them to be sent to Seattle to avoid U.S. Custom duties.
August 28, 1909
Alaska Bazar,
Victoria, B.C.
Gentlemen:
Referring to your letter of August 16th, of which evidently you have a copy, you may send Baskets No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, also the Thaltan to which you have referred to in a previous letter. I would prefer to have this package come in care of the Wells Fargo Express Co., Seattle and as the baskets will come into this country not for sale, perhaps there will be no duty to be paid the United States Custom House. I think it would be well to make a plain statement in regard to the contents of the package and then leave it to the Custom House officers if the same are dutiable, if the duty has to be prepaid please do so and charge same upon invoice to be sent me, upon receipt of the package and checking up of the contents. I will send you New York draft for the amount.
Yours truly,Subject
George, Harry
