Dear Sir:
In the management of Asylum No. 2 for the six months ending June 30th we are able to report that we have not had to call on the state for any of appropriations made for the maintenance and support of the institution for the yesr,91 & 92. Although many articles of supplies such as potatoes come & have been higher than usual, yet by strict economy we have been able to keep within the amounts paid by county and private patients & at the same time we have in no instance denied the inmates of a single thing that they ought to have had within the way of eatables, apparel or attention, the management feel rather proud of this, as I think in all probability it is the first time in the history of the institution, the question now arises if it can be done this first six months, why not the second and third? I think it can, unless some unseen misfortune occurs, but while the managers are looking to the interest of the tax payer of the state, we do not intend to disregard the wealth of humanity.
Allow me to congratulate on your most excellent appointment on the "Text Book Committee".
Truly Yours.Dimensions
