Description

Letter from Harry George to the Moretti-McIntosh Company asking for more clarification as to what items they can obtain. Vol II pg. 107Y Dear Sir; Many thanks for yours of the 24th jut received. It is not my intention to purchase a collection of any one class of work, but to get as many independent pieces as possible, representing the work of different tribes. I note that you have9 indian reservations subject to the Santa Ysabel Agency, if you will send me the names of these different reservations and let me know the class of work they can produce , or will send me a collection, the possibilities are that I can take out of it two, three, or more of a few tribes of Indians. My present inclination is to get as many different kinds as possible. I have a good many of some kinds and thought it advisable to change. In regard to what I wrote in reference to the Tule River agency, will state this should have read Tule River School. In regard to the Pala agency will state I have been in correspondence with one firm at that point, and have an order placed with them for specimens of their work. Your very truly,
