Dear Friend George
I've got a dandy Fish Pole made & used by Puget Sound Indians at Neah Bay called a Smelt Pole
it is 10 ft. 8 inches long
2½ inches wide
½ " thick
very dark wood has 35 Prongs on the Business End its (a Dandy rare attraction at $7.00 F.O.B.)
Yours truly
The lower handwritten letter mentions the receipt of another letter and expressing concern about a "flu" that killed nearly two-thirds of all the Natives in Northern Alaska. There is a reference to people fishing for some type of fish, with a note that strong men stand in canoes to catch them as they swim in schools. There is a drawing of a Smelt fishing pole.
In the lower left corner, there is a colorful vintage advertisement sticker promoting Seattle, featuring phrases like "COME TO SEATTLE" and "YOU WILL MEET YOUR FRIENDS."Subject
