A 2-page handwritten letter to Harry L. George from F. W. Bohle discussing a lack of progress regarding the “Hudson Bay Fur Co.” There is also a copy of page one. Vol I pg. 34B
Dear Sir:
Your last letter of Jan. 28th was duly received and I thank you for same.
After waiting fully two months I am now in position to tell you have made no headway at all with the
Hudson Bay Fur Co. relative disposing my Basket.
The only letter (rather short note) which I received from the Hudson Bay Fur Co. was the "six line" note , which I enclosed in my last letter to you.
My photograph of Baskets was returned in such bad shape that I discarded same.
During January & February I received a few quotations on old Indian Baskets and an very much surprised the prices they are now asking for Indian Baskets in general.
An Apache Water Bottle, very much like mine in center of "Photograph of Bottles" was quoted to me at 28.50 stating reg. price would be 35.00.
Who ever heard of such high prices, not one but all are asking awful high prices.
I am certain my collection would be a good buy for any Dealer at 10.00 a piece, providing party takes all.
Am willing to take 100.00 a month, in paying 300.00 down, party could take a whole year to pay fore entire Collection

Perhaps you can tell me of somebody who might be interested in good old Indian Baskets.
Am very sorry that you can not see many of the very good pieces "not photographed"
Had 5 different "on approval" of old Baskets since Jan. 1st but returned all as prices were sky high.
And now more than ever am convinced I am offering my collection very reasonable.
If you will assist me in perhaps finding me a buyer, I am sure I will do the right thing,
and appreciate very much up to date your kind consideration you have given me relative this
matter in general.
Hoping to hear from you again, I remain
Respectfully yours,
P. S. ????? '5' of my Baskets for an exceptional price and very large Maiden, which was for sale at 150.00
Owner found Baskets too large to place in home. This is the largest Maiden Basket I have ever seen,
a ????? can sit in Basket (perfect shape and good design)Subject
