My Dear Mr. George: –
Thanks for your letters of Oct 28, 29 Nov 5. = I will save the old Chimirikan Basket. Of course you know the “ have no connection with the “Coos” or with the [Sinslaw? Simslaw?] of N.W. Oregon = the Sinslaw = Alsea, Yaquina - Knitsch are all Yakonan family.
I do not think your black sateen beaded skull cap was made by any Coos Indian = the silatz fair is a commercial affair = no place to buy genuine old material. Have [periodically?] visited that fair + know.
Consult[?] speck, Ethnology of the Yuchi Inds. anther[?] - pub museum University Pa 1909. They made good pottery - their Basketry was cane and hickory[?] splints. We have no specimens at present.

Now that the war is over, business is brisk, and we keep very busy = Having welcome shower today - which is fine for food stuffs =
