Pg 1 Jan 23, 1952 8:30 am Wednesday My dearest husband, Received your letter postmarked Jan 20 today so that is sure good service. I hope it keeps up that good. I did the babys ironing this afternoon and had just finished when ML called and wanted to know if I wanted to go over to the garage and pay the rent. mom had gone to the store so I said I'd call her when mom got back so I did and i went over and paid the rent but haven't had the car washed yet so won't put it in yet. I asked ML about it and she said she didn't know if the stations would wash cars as cold as it was today because they might not have enough heat. She asked me if I had bought a camera yet and I told her I hadn't even cashed the money order for $10.00. I asked her if it was a flash bulb and she said you can get the attachment for it and I'm glad of that because I'll need it to take pictures of the baby inside during cold weather. I'm sure glad I didn't buy my camera already because I know this one will be much better. Be sure and pack it good and mark it fragile if you can, have it insured. I know you know all that but just want to remind you of it. I fed the baby peaches this afternoon and he didn't care to much about them. He likes his egg yolk very well and I was surprised. Pg 2 diaper today and got him on the pot before he messed. He slept about half an hour this morning and then about the same time this afternoon. I saw Bonnie over to Wrights this afternoon and called to her because I wanted to order some shampoo and she said she was going to stop anyway. She said tell you hello and that she has been sick for 3 weeks so hasn't answered your card you sent her but will before to long. I am going up town tomorrow and look around and see of I can't find something for the baby from you for Christmas. Ida stopped in earlier this week and I mentioned I was going up town and she asked me if I would pay a bill for her and I said yes so she brought the money over tonight and the bill comes to $4.00 and she gave me a $5.00bill and told me to take the extra dollar and buy the baby something for Valentine's Day from her so I thanked her. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to buy hi. I am going to buy something for you tomorrow to but it won't be much because I am just about broke. I think I will buy your mother and ML some records. Just 1 a piece because can't afford anything else. I picked up mothers pen by mistake and it leaked all over me. they are just exactly alike but the only difference is that mine doesn't leak. Ha Ha. I have made his formula already and he is in bed taking his bottle and I sure hope he goes to sleep. I think I'll go to bed soon as he goes to sleep because I still don't feel very good. Pg 3 bad and sure know it when I was ironing. I went in to get more paper and looked at the boy and he is almost thru with his bottle and still awake. I don't care how long he stays awake if he would sleep the whole night thru. I hope I sleep netter tonight than I did last night. Well I seem to have caught up on what happened today so will finish this and answer your letter tomorrow. Oh I almost forgot, ML gave me the babys shoes and also gave me a chicken that she had picked up from Mary Jane. My Christmas present. 9:25 am Thurs. The little boy woke up at 4:00 and when I was so sick I was afraid if I leaned over his bed I would heave so I laid in bed and listened to him eat. I had her put him on a bottle holder so she could go back to bed. He woke up again at 9:00 so I grabbed a cup of coffee. I'm not going down town this morning It might warm up and then I'll go this afternoon. I want to get something for him right away because I'm afraid I'll do something else with it. I don't look forward to going up town but then I never do because you know how I hate to ride the bus but I don't think I want to walk as it's a little bit chilly. I had a regular pipe dream the other night. In fact i got real excited over it but you probably wouldn't like it and I'm not to sure I would either. Remember the house down on the corner across from McDonalds. I asked dad about it this morning and he said they probably wanted about 3000.00 for it but if you could get it for a thousand it would take about 2000.00 to fix it up. That's a lot of money so I dropped the subject it has no basement and has bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room and one bedroom downstairs and a couple of rooms in the attic. As I said, just a dream. Most of the apartments for rent, read adults only so it looks as if I'll have to see about digging up a house or something. Oh well. Maybe something will turn up. My dear, when are you going to stop hurting yourself? I hope your knee is better now. For heaven's sake, don't buy any tablecloths for $20.0. They aren't worth it. By the time you get home the baby will be quite willing to go any place with you. All kids like to go places. What did the Gen do with the officer who brought his wife over with him? Yes. I still kiss his cheek but sometimes he just gets to kisses on one side. Depends on how he is laying. I'll close now and have to get busy and do some things and want to dress the little boy too.
