Pg A "Kansas City, Oct 12, '43 Dear Chubby: How nice it was for you to invite me. it was a lovely surprise> I am glad you are studying the lesson int he morning, as that gives you a nice start for the day. Keeps error away. Wish all of you could have heard the lecture I heard here the Sunday after I came home. It sure fitted in at just the right time, to do me a lot of good. There is one here Friday night at 2nd church, It started raining here last night and has rained about all day. To bad Jim ha to stand for such a long way. I guess he didn't enjoy that. No doubt you have been to the cemetery often as the weather has been so grand. I hope"
Pg B "it don't get cold now. I haven't seen any of your folks since I left St. Joe. About 3 o'clock Sat. afternoon Margaret came bringing me a birthday cake but she forgot to put the 16 candles on it so I didn't have any to blow out. I went downtown yesterday and bought me a new pair of shoes with my birthday money. Helen came home with me Sunday and she went with me to a show for another birthday treat. I did very well I think. Guess Ralph is busy with lessons too. Tell Dorothy she can read your letter too as it has about all the news I know of now. I am glad Jim is getting along nicely. How is your Daddy? Tell him if he comes to KC he should come to see me."
Pg C "I hope he keeps well and takes care of himself. i think of you all very often and can hardly realize that Pearl isn't there. I know you are all doing your best and I would love to see all of you. Love always, Florence"
