Dear Mr. McDonald:
I am sponsoring a bill which will eliminate the individual domestic wine license for the "home wine maker".
I am firmly convinced that by encouraging the home wine maker, we will promote interest in wine making and drinking and thus help the commercial wine industry.
Federal law currently controls the quantity a home wine maker can produce (i.e. 200 gallons) and to date only 22 domestic licenses have been issued. I am firmly convinced violating that there are more than 22 wine makers in this state violating the state law.
I would appreciate hearing from you on this subject (pro or con).
