Inc., Geneva, New York 14456, so that he will be able to bench graft 30 roots for me for delivery in the spring of 1969. A check for $5.50 is enclosed representing the minimum order of $5.00, plus 50 cents packing charge.
Sorry Professor Olmo has not released T8-43 yet, as I would like to test its growth possibilities here in Northwest Missouri.

Dear Dr. McDonald:
I have your letter of November 1sr stating you would like the obtain enough graftsticks of Ruby Cabernet to make 30 benchgrafts.
We will send you 6 graftsticks which should take care of grafting necessary to make 30 benchgrafts.
I am very sorry to hear the freezing temperatures the end of April took care of your grafted vines. The Cabernet Sauvignon does leaf out later in the spring then Ruby Cabernet. This may offer one possibility of escaping some of the late frosts. However, if this is an extremely late frost then it would have caught Cabernet Sauvignon when it was out.
Ruby Cabernet is a high acid variety and I feel certain by the time the variety reaches 22 Balling the acid is still going to be up 1.0. Many wineries allow the variety to reach around 23-24 on account of this high acid before picking.
With regard to T8-43 I have just checked with Professor Olmo and this selection is stil being tested and not released.
Yours truly,
cc: Mr. Henry O. BennettLexicon
